Brenda Valentine to host NWTF's TV show "Turkey Call"
EDGEFIELD, S.C. - If you enjoy watching intense turkey hunting from locales throughout North America, and learning land management tips from dedicated wildlife biologists, catch "Turkey Call" and "Get in the Game" television shows on the Pursuit Channel beginning Jan. 3, 2010.
The award-winning programming from the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) includes "Get in the Game," which will air on Mossy Oak's "True North Wednesdays" at 9:30 p.m., Sundays at 2 a.m. and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m.
"Turkey Call" can be seen on Mossy Oak's "Obsession Sundays" at 10 p.m., Tuesdays at 8 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. All times are EST.
"We're thrilled about joining our friends from the Pursuit Channel," said Burt Carey, NWTF editorial director. "Several nights each week, Mossy Oak-sponsored time blocks will target viewers with similar outdoor interests. The NWTF's episodes will appear at prime times so that wild turkey enthusiasts everywhere can tune in."
Andy Ivey, NWTF senior regional director, experienced hunter and radio and television host, will host "Get in the Game" and Brenda Valentine, the First Lady of Hunting and NWTF National Spokesperson, will host "Turkey Call."
The concept of "Get in the Game" is to teach land managers how to stretch their dollars using cost-effective, wildlife habitat management strategies from NWTF experts who also offer professional assistance to NWTF members. The show will teach viewers to attract and sustain healthy wildlife populations, whether the goal is to improve a single acre or a large farm or hunting lease.
Each week, "Turkey Call" will take fans on an exciting ride as NWTF cameras follow dedicated Federation volunteers on heart-pounding hunts all over North America. With established turkey populations in 49 states, Canada and Mexico, viewers will see a wide variety of hunting locations featuring the five subspecies of North American wild turkeys.
"Sometimes in business, and in life, there are companies and people who stand above the level of role model or mentor and simply come to represent everything we're about," said Pursuit Channel CEO, Rusty Faulk. "We promote conservation. The NWTF lives it. We cherish our outdoor tradition. The NWTF embodies it. We're proud they chose the Pursuit Channel."
Pursuit Channel is included in DIRECTV's basic subscription package (HUNT Channel 608), and will become available in more than 26 million households during the 2010 broadcast year.
