The Cuthand, Texas, " Women In The Outdoors " committee extended a warm welcome to me during their third annual event near Bagota, Texas.
The Cuthand United Methodist Church and surrounding area was abuzz with a varied assortment of activities during the Women In The Outdoors event held there on March 27th. Where else can a gal go to learn skills such as archery, blacksmithing, canning, CPR, Dutch oven cooking, fishing, handgun shooting, tomahawk throwing, shotgunning, turkey hunting, shot shell crafts, and even how to change a tire among other useful stuff every lady should know how to do?
I had a ball at this event and regret my camera battery fizzled on me before I was able to get my fill of photos. Julie, Tina and their dedicated crew worked very hard to organize this event. Their success was evident by the tired but smiling faces of all the attendees at the end of the day. A special thanks to Shawn Roberts, Regional Director of the NWTF, and all the knowledgeable instructors who gave up their beautiful Saturday to teach this group of women new skills. Christina Kett posted a video on YouTube of the impromptu turkey calling contest. Check it out.
