The gorgeous
Gaylord Springs Golf Course was
the setting June 13 for the
Second Annual Porter Wagoner
Conservation Cup to benefit NWTF
Wheelin' Sportsmen Outreach
Program. The four-man scramble
tournament drew golfers from all
areas of Tennessee. The event
was sponsored by Gaylord Hotels,
Bass Pro Shops, Jeanette Rudy
and NWTF Tennessee State
Chapter. Several members of the
Porter Wagoner family were
present to represent the country
music celebrity who was a friend
and supporter of the National
Wild Turkey Federation.

Brenda doesn't golf but enjoyed
visiting with those that did to
raise money for Wheelin'
Sportsmen.

Daylilies and other flowers were
a riot of color at the Gaylord
Springs golf course.

Golfers came in all sizes and
ages to support the NWTF.

NWTF CEO George Thornton and TWRA Executive Director Ed
Carter may not be golf pros but
they managed to turn in good
scores.

This team from Nashville won the
"Having the Most Fun" award.
Members are Brian Abrahamson,
Greg Cole, David Olender, and Julie
Schuster.

Beth Thornton and Tim Yates,
NWTF Regional Director

Regional Directors, Charlie
Tollett and Tim Yates proudly
present the winners of the
tournament with matching Knight
rifles. A banquet and auction
was held at the picturesque
Gaylord Springs Club House
immediately following the
tournament. Special
entertainment during the banquet
was provided by Country Music
artist
Randall Haley. The Porter
Wagoner family graciously
donated a pair of Porter's
cowboy boots to the Wheelin'
Sportsmen fundraiser auction
which were purchased by Bass Pro
Shops.
