Brenda
Valentine
“First Lady of Hunting®”
Born
and raised in a very remote section of Henry County,
Tennessee, Brenda Valentine literally grew up
roaming the woods and was hunting with her father
before she learned to walk. Ultimately she became
extremely knowledgeable in all areas of
woodsmanship, shooting and animal behavior. Little
did she (or anyone else for that matter) dream this
basic way of life that supplied meat for the table
and hides for the market was laying a firm
foundation for a career that would take her out of
“Johnson Holler” and earn her the title of the
“First Lady of Hunting®.”
This self admitted tomboy has
become one of the most recognized hunters in the
world. Her stories have claimed national awards
while being published in many major outdoor
publications. She is a book author, photographer,
radio personality, videographer, and highly sought
after seminar speaker. However, most people relate
Brenda Valentine with several hunting programs on
national television. Brenda is a host for the Bass
Pro Shops’ Outdoor World program that airs 52 weeks
a year on The Outdoor Channel and a co-host for the
W.L. Gore Outdoor Adventures show on Verses Network.
She is also a frequent guest on many other TV shows
produced by her various sponsors. With a tremendous
fan base, most viewers readily admit that it is
Brenda’s genuine enthusiasm, no-pretense attitude,
extreme knowledge, and warm southern twang that
keeps them clicking the remote from station to
station to watch her next hunting episode.
Brenda typically spends 200 days
each year filming hunts. Obviously, Brenda’s playing
field has expanded from the farm in Tennessee to the
far reaches of the world. She has taken her trusty
bow and arrow, muzzleloader, or center fire rifle
from the southern tip of Africa to the Artic Circle
and every stop in between.
Brenda is the first woman
inductee into the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of
Fame. She is also a member of a Sports Hall of Fame
for her archery accomplishments and a Knight
Muzzleloader Master Hunter recipient. She holds
numerous state, regional, and national 3-D Archery
titles. Brenda proudly endorses and uses products of
the following companies: Mossy Oak Camo, Mossy Oak
Seasonings, Bass Pro Shop/RedHead, Parker Compound
Bows, Hunters Safety Systems, Winchester Ammunition,
Sims Vibration Labs, Carolina Archery Products, and
Trophy Rock.
This First Lady® is often
described by others as a modern day pioneer in the
outdoor industry and hunting’s brightest star.
Brenda is a staunch ambassador for women and
children in the outdoors; however, she proclaims
that while hunting provides her livelihood, her
leisure, and will most certainly be her legacy, she
will never be able to give back as much to hunting
as it has given her. Brenda still makes her home on
a farm in rural Tennessee with her husband, Barney,
and an assortment of dogs, horses, and various other
critters.
